Meet Charlotte 🐾

Charlotte is a lovely 10-year-old Jack Russell Terrier who is now searching for her forever home following the sad passing of her owner. This sudden change was understandably unsettling for her, and when she first came into our care she was quite nervous and needed time, patience, and reassurance to begin trusting again.

Thanks to the gentle support of our kennels team and a few weeks in a foster home, Charlotte has made great progress. In a calm, home environment she has really started to blossom, and her confidence continues to grow each day.

Once she knows you, Charlotte is a loving and affectionate little girl who enjoys being close to her people. As she has settled, we are now seeing her fun, goofy personality shine through – complete with joyful zoomies around the house. Despite being an older lady, Charlotte is very spritely and enjoys her walks, playtime, and keeping active.

Charlotte can find busy, noisy environments overwhelming. She would need an adopter who is mindful of where they choose to walk her, opting for quieter routes, and who can manage household noises that may startle her while she continues to settle and build confidence.

Charlotte also finds interactions with other dogs challenging and can be reactive, particularly in small or enclosed spaces. She would benefit from ongoing support and understanding around this and will be happiest as the only dog in the home.

Because of her nervous disposition, we feel Charlotte would be best suited to a calm household with children aged 12 and over who can be respectful of her space and give her the time she needs to settle in at her own pace.

Charlotte is looking for a patient, loving home where she can feel safe and secure. In return, she will reward her adopters with loyalty, affection, and plenty of character from a little dog who still has so much love to give.
