Freddie is now searching for an active outdoorsy owner to call his own!

He has a true lust for life, and is always up for an adventure with his favourite human companion(s). He will thrive in a home that can provide him with plenty of physical and mental stimulation as he likes to keep busy. He loves long countryside walks where he can take in all the new sights and smells; he will make the perfect companion for someone who loves to hike and explore.

He’s a bright spark that’s eager to learn! He knows many basic commands already like, sit, down, wait, stay, paw, and he currently learning heel. As he’s still young his new owner(s) will need to be committed to on-going training to further develop his skills. Freddie is a real foodie, which makes training easy and fun for both him and his handler!

Fred has a history of resource guarding which will need to be managed within his new home; we are looking for someone that is experienced with resource guarding behaviours and shows a good understanding of dog body language. Due to this, Freddie will not be suitable to live with children or other animals. Please explain your experience with resource guarding in your perfect match form.

He has a friendly nature towards people, and shows an eagerness to make new human friends at his own pace. He has a playful nature, and loves any activity that involves playing with a toy so he’ll be sure to fill a home with lots of fun! Freddie has shown to be social around other dogs when out on walks, but will need further socialisation to improve on basic manners and social skills as he can sometimes be over-bearing or slightly timid depending on the dog.

Being a cocker spaniel, his new owner(s) will need to keep up with a regular grooming routine to maintain his coat. However, Freddie has shown some anxieties around grooming equipment so we have begun desensitisation towards this at the centre which will need continuing within his new home.

If you’re looking for an active fun filled companion then Freddie could be your perfect match! Please fill in our perfect match form to express your interest.
