Obi is now on the search for a sofa to call his own.
Obi’s friendly and affectionate nature has stolen the heart of all the staff here at CDCH. In the short amount of time he’s been at the centre, he has made strong bonds with his main carers and has proven to be a loyal canine companion. He will thrive in a home that is around for most of the day as Obi has unfortunately shown signs of separation anxiety; his new owner(s) will need to be prepared to continue desensitisation training to allow him to feel more comfortable in his own company.
Please tell us about past experience you’ve had with separation anxiety in your form (if any).
He is a laidback boy making him happy to be wherever his faviourate human companions are! He enjoys countryside walks where he can take in all the sights, smells and sounds but his faviourate part of the day is certainly curling up on the sofa for a good cuddle! Obi could live with children 5 years + so long as they are respectful and dog savvy. He’s gentle and affectionate so would prefer a laidback home that matches his calm energy. He is disinterested in other dogs, so has the capability to walk with other well-mannered dogs but would not benefit from living with another dog in the home.
Obi has great manners; he walks well on the lead and knows basic commands.
As you can see, Obi was born with a cleft palate, this just adds to his cuteness and makes him more unique! Obi arrived at the centre with sore skin so his new owner(s) will need to continue skin treatment within the home to support him back to full health.
