Carlos says ‘hello!’, he is now on the search for a quiet and calm forever home that can help build his confidence. It’s clear that Carlos probably hasn’t experienced as much of life as a usual 1 year old dog would have so will require an owner who is keen to take on board training and socialisation to enhance his confidence.
He has a sweet and gentle nature towards humans and always ensures that he has a good sniff around their feet and legs before politely initiating physical touch. He can be shy at first but is keen to make friends if given plenty of time, play and treats! Once you have gained his trust he is an incredibly affectionate and interactive boy; his favouriate thing is to snuggle up with you on the sofa. He would be best suited to an adult only home or with children that were 16 years+.
Since arriving at the centre Carlos has been learning how to ‘dog’; he’s been introduced to toys and his new found love is a squeaky ball! He is extremely food motivated which will make training easy so will benefit from a family that are eager to take him to 121 training classes or an activity like agility. He is an active dog and would thrive in a rural or semi rural location that has plenty of access to quiet countryside walks.
As Carlos is people orientated he would thrive in a home that is around for most of the day to provide him with the attention he requires.
He has shown some anxieties around other dogs and will benefit from someone who has experience with reactiveness towards other dogs. We have begun to build his confidence around other dogs already at the centre, within a short space of time we have seen positive improvements.
If you could provide this lovable boy with the home he deserves then please fill out a perfect match form.
