Our gorgeous little lady Moon is now on the road to recovery and looking for a loving new forever home.

Moon is a 6 month old French Bulldog who came in to our care after suffering a serious injury to her front left leg – following extensive investigation, sadly there was no way of saving it, therefore she underwent a full amputation. Despite this, she is recovering well in a loving foster home and to our delight, has bounced back rather quickly.

Moon has already proven herself to be a wonderful companion once settled in a home – she is calm (apart from the odd zoomie of course) and will happily potter around the house, often choosing to be by your side for company and snuggles. She can get a little upset when left on her own, so we would be looking for a home where someone is around for most of the time initially, with the idea of building her up slowly to being left for short periods of time.

Due to a troubled start, she was a very nervous pup when she came to us, being very unsure of her surroundings and meeting lots of new people – with lots of patience and gentle encouragement from her foster parents, her fun personality has started to shine through. Moon can still be uncertain of new people and finds being outside of the house quite overwhelming at times, so will need patient and understanding owners who can continue to build her confidence with the world at a steady pace and provide lots of positive encouragement.

She can find it quite scary when meeting new dogs, so continued socialisation with other calm dogs over time would be hugely beneficial.

Due to Moon now living life on three legs, she is currently only having little ventures, which are not too strenuous and will need her new adopter(s) to continue helping her develop the strength in her remaining legs with short, infrequent walks, keeping in mind that she will also needs lots of rest too. Sadly this type of trauma can have a future impact on the rest of the body due to her compensating to keep up, so she is currently having regular physio sessions at home, which will need her new owners to continue, as well as having her regularly checked by a professional/vet to ensure there is no pain or concerns elsewhere. There can be a risk of her remaining front leg developing problems related in future, so this is something for any potential adopters to keep in mind.

If you think you can provide Moon with a calm and understanding home and all the TLC she needs on her road to recovery as well as cater to her life as a tripod Frenchie, then please fill out a perfect match form below, providing as much detail about your suitability as you can.
