Russell is a 7 year old terrier who deserves to find a loving and caring home to finally call his own after being deprived of home comforts for some time.
He arrived at CDCH following being discovered living crated in a shed, so staff have been making big efforts to give him all the love and comfort he has been missing out on. Despite his unfortunate experiences, Russell has a wonderful character and has been making friends with everyone at the centre. He is now enjoying time with his carers where he gets to explore his new surroundings and investigate all the new scents (he loves to follow his nose).
Russell is very sweet natured but a little nervous, so is looking for a calm home with a family who can help him grow in confidence and introduce him to many new adventures. Older children (10+) will be considered, so long as they are understanding of his initial worries and happy to take interactions slowly. We are looking for Russell to be the only pet at this time, as this is something we he has had minimal introductions to while in our care. He has shown no reactivity towards dogs and seems happy to give a tail wag when passing by.
This chap will be most happy in a home which can enjoy frequent countryside walks, avoiding roadsides where possible, as he can find passing traffic a little scary, so will benefit from training to help build his confidence around this. He is currently un-housetrained, meaning his new family will need to spend some time working on his toileting habits, with frequent daily access to the outdoors and lots of positive encouragement and praise.
