Meet Ruby: The Playful and Sociable Springer Spaniel Seeking a Loving Home!

Ruby is a vibrant and lovable 1-year-old Springer Spaniel, who despite a history of neglect, has a heart as big as her enthusiasm for life. This girl was bought in to our care by the RSPCA after being discovered emaciated and living in a crate alongside two other dogs, but this experience hasn’t dampened her spirits, and she is now on the lookout for a forever home that can match her playful energy and zest for adventure.

She is a social butterfly and greets everyone she meets with a waggy tail and excitement to see them. She is also happy to be around other calm dogs, but is more interested in her toys and humans than making canine friends, so for now, would be best suited to a home where she is the only dog, and can soak up all the attention she has been missing out on. Once fully settled in a home, she has the potential to live with another similar, well-balanced dog in future.

Ruby loves attention from her humans and often seeks them out for play sessions, therefore, she’s the perfect companion for those who enjoy a canine sidekick. Due to her energy level, she will need lots of physical and mental stimulation from her new family and would thrive with an active family who frequently enjoy outdoor adventures. Although super friendly, she would be best suited to a home with no small children, as she can be a little clumsy and full on.

Toys are Ruby’s best friends, and she delights in play sessions that keep her mind and body engaged, but she can become a little obsessive, which may be due to some anxieties and not having had the opportunity to play in the past (she will tell you if you take take too long to throw her ball). This causes Ruby to pick up items she should not in an attempt to play, which will need managing on her walks.

Ruby is due to be neutered, which will be carried out prior to an adoption, however, her adopters will need to be happy to return to the centre for her 2nd vaccination on 8/12/23. She is seeking a home that appreciates her lively spirit and who can match her energy levels – if you think this is your family, let us know by completing a perfect match form below:
