Say Hello to Marmite, the young black and white female who is looking for a special understanding home.
Marmite was brought into our care after living as a stray for some time. She is estimated to be around 6 months old and sadly living alone as a stray is likely what she has known for the majority of her life. Because of this, Marmite is under socialised and can be tentative around humans.
In her own company, she is playful and outgoing, but she is still gaining confidence when it comes to human interaction. Since entering our care Marmite has grown in confidence daily and has made some really lovely bonds with our staff. Due to her nervousness, Marmite is currently a ‘hands off’ cat, although she has shown positive steps and is starting to initiate interaction. We think that with time and patience she will enjoy human contact. We have noticed that she is incredibly inquisitive and really enjoys the company of other cats, so a home with an equally young playful cat who can show her the ropes would be ideal. It would be great for Marmite to have the support and help of another feline friend to help her build confidence with the world around her.
Marmite would love to find a special home that understands her nature, and is accepting of the fact that she may not ever want to be a lap cat. She would love a calm and quiet home, where once settled she can come and go as she pleases and can have the choice to spend time in human company if she wishes.
As Marmite is still young, she may choose to become more social and interactive over time, however we would like her to have a home where she there is no pressure for her to be social if she doesn’t want to.
Due to Marmites nervousness, we are specifically looking for a home with no young children, or dogs. However as mentioned above, a home with a young and confident cat will be considered.
