Spencer

Spencer is a charming 5-year-old Chihuahua with a heart full of love for his favourite people.

This pint sized cutey can be a little shy on first meet, but he quickly forms strong bonds and once he does, he loves nothing more than spending his day with his carer, whether that be joining them for countryside walks, snoozing on their lap, or doing his best parrot impression and sitting on their shoulder to watch TV.

Ideal Home:

Spencer has been through a difficult transition, after originally arriving with his mum and sister (he has even flown from Malta to be in the UK today), so as you can imagine, the changes have been quite stressful for him. Due to his nervous nature, he would benefit most from a serene environment with minimal comings and goings, and from someone who is around for a good part of the day to keep him company.

He can be reserved around new people and dogs, but with patience and understanding, this should slowly grow – he needs a home that is committed to helping him become more comfortable with the world around him. As he has a very gentle soul, he could live with respectful and dog-savvy older children who understand his needs.

Although he arrived with his family, he has shown some jealous behaviours around them, therefore, we are looking for a home with no other dogs to worry him, so his adopters can give him full attention while he adjusts to his new environment.

Considerations:

Spencer is booked in to be neutered on 15/08/2024, which will be carried out by our veterinary team as part of the adoption, therefore, adopters should be happy to return to the centre on this date.
