Hank is a super handsome and loveable young Staffy cross, with an adorably affectionate nature!

Sadly, Hank has spent half of his life in kennels after ending up in the care of the RSPCA due to neglect – as you can imagine, this has meant that he has missed out on the comforts of a loving family and home environment, as well as many opportunities for adventure, so he is now hoping to find a family who can show him wonderful things life has to offer for the first time at his own pace.

Hank knows how to capture hearts – he often carries around a little comfort teddy in his mouth, which paired with his adorable face, works a charm at getting all the fuss! He has been a delight to spend time with and is a popular pup with the staff at CDCH! On visits to the office he will always seek out a lap to rest his head on (this is usually his clever tactic for getting a tasty treat) and is accepting of cuddles from those familiar to him – he even likes to be sung to sleep!

Although he easily makes new human friends, due to his limited experiences, he has developed some reservations and prefers the gentle approach, therefore, would be best suited to a calm home environment in the initial stages, where adopters are understanding of gradual introductions. Saying this, he is social butterfly when it comes to meeting other dogs, and has made many doggy friends, often joining them on walks in the countryside, or even play sessions – he is quite a clumsy goof and boisterous in his play style, so this is generally limited to dogs who are similar and happy to engage.

Hank would be a great match to a home where someone is around for a good part of the day to help him settle, and where the potential to meet other dogs is high, giving him lots of opportunities to socialise. We may consider a home with another dog so long as the match could be well suited, which we would assess prior to any meets.

Although Hank is generally a placid pup, due to a difficult start, he can display some undesired mouthing behaviors when he’s feeling anxious – for this reason, he would be best suited to an adult-only home where his adopters are willing to be patient and work closely with the CDCH team to help him adjust to his new home (homes within an hour travel distance of the centre would be ideal).

He has been wonderful to care for during his time at the centre, so we know that once settled, he will make an amazing companion for the right adopters and they will be super lucky to make him part of their family! Hank is not yet neutered due to his age, therefore, his adopters should be happy to return to the centre at a later date for this to be carried out as part of the adoption process.

If you think you have a Hank shaped hole in your hearts, and are happy to make extra room for his teddies too, as he is quite the collector, then complete a perfect match form below to register your interest:
