Comet’s story is one of incredible sadness and resilience, as he was discovered tied to a lamppost, with stab wounds to his body. Thankfully, after receiving urgent care and lots of love from his rescue team, this courageous boy has made a full recovery, and is now ready to leave his past behind him, to embark on a brighter future with a loving family.
Despite the trauma Comet has experienced, his gentle and sweet nature has shone through – he’s quickly captured the hearts of everyone who meets him, forming friendships effortlessly, which is a true testament to his character. Comet is not only a charmer, but is a big, goofy teddy bear who doesn’t quite realise his size and strength! His greetings can be rather enthusiastic, and often come with a kiss, so he’ll need a family who are experienced with larger breeds and happy to help him refine his manners. Comet would thrive with adopters who are confident, patient, and willing to continue working on basic training, including leash walking and managing his occasional exuberance.
Comet is friendly with other dogs and shows excitement to say hello – once all the sniffs are out of the way, he is happy to have company on walks. He does however, have a strong prey drive, so he’ll need to stay on a lead in public and would be happiest as the only pet in his home. As Comet loves to play and chase toys, he would really benefit from having a secure garden to run around in, which will give him the space and freedom he craves, allowing him to stretch his legs and play to his heart’s content.
Comet still requires neutering, which will be included as part of his adoption, therefore, he will need to be returned at an arranged date for this to be carried out (this will be further discussed during his adoption process).
If you’re looking for a loyal, loving companion, and aren’t phased by a larger breed, then Comet might just be the perfect fit for you – complete a perfect match form below to express your interest:
