Introducing Piper, our gentle senior girl who is incredibly special to our team here. Piper has been with us for quite some time due to her involvement in an ongoing court case, but she’s now finally free to search for her forever home. She’s ready to enjoy her well-earned retirement in a calm, quiet environment, surrounded by the simple joys of companionship.
At this stage in her life, Piper is all about comfort. She’s hoping to find an adult-only household where she can be the centre of attention and enjoy a peaceful environment without the hustle and bustle of other pets. After all, she’s earned her time in the spotlight and would love nothing more than to share it with someone who appreciates slow mornings and quiet evenings.
Despite her age, Piper loves her daily walks in quiet, low-traffic areas with lots of opportunities for sniffing. Piper still has a spark of playfulness when it takes her fancy. She absolutely loves squeaky toys and tennis balls. A few minutes of play is all she needs to get her tail wagging before she’s ready to settle in for a cuddle session on the couch or a nap in a sunny spot by the window.
Due to some anxieties around other dogs, Piper wears a muzzle in busy areas and would benefit from an experienced adopter who understands how to support a dog who can be sensitive in these situations.
In her old age, Piper has developed a chronic chest infection that is managed with regular medication, including long-term pain relief. Her new family will need to be prepared to continue supporting her medical needs, as is often expected with senior dogs.
If you think you could provide Piper with the loving and understanding home she deserves, please complete a Perfect Match form. This special girl is ready to settle in for her best years yet.
