Peponi

Peponi is a Greek Harehound, whose story began as a stray puppy on the streets in Greece, where she was rescued and brought to the UK to find a better life. Now a young and confident adult, Peponi has grown into a friendly, sociable girl who loves making new friends—both the human and canine kind.

Peponi has a charming personality and thrives in the company of others, so would love to find a forever home which can offer her companionship throughout the day so she is not left alone – she will often be a shadow her favourite people around the home, so needs slowly building up to being left for short periods of time.

As a young dog, Peponi has lots of energy and curiosity, so will need an active family who are committed to giving her plenty of daily exercise and stimulation to burn off energy and keep her happy. She would likely enjoy activities like training, enrichment toys, or scent games to satisfy her inquisitive nature, as without enough daily exercise, she may look for other less desirable outlets to keep herself occupied. Once she is tired out, she is pretty chilled out in the home and happy to take naps to recharge her batteries. She would be an ideal match for a family who enjoy lots of little outdoor adventures, as she is quite happy to meet new people and pups, and loves to get out an about.

Being a typical hound, Peponi has an inquisitive nose and will need some boundaries around meal times to prevent her from pestering at your plate. She is also best kept on a lead during walks, as her nose might tempt her to wander – continued recall training could help her in this area, but her new family should be prepared to embrace her love for following scents.

Peponi could potentially live with older children who are able to be respectful of her space while adjusting to a new home. Other dogs will also be considered, so long as they are friendly and comfortable with sharing their space. Cats and smaller animals would not be suited, as she often finds them too interesting.
