This charming chap is Alfie – a 2 year old Labrador Retriever X!

Being a working breed, Alfie is a big ball of energy who is always on the go and is now looking for a family who can keep up with him!

He has come in to the centre following a trial as a police search dog, and although he had a great nose for it, his attention span didn’t quite meet the mark – he would be the perfect addition to a super active family who were looking to get involved in some extra training and activities with their new four legged friend, such as agility or scent work!

Alfie has a wonderful temperament and will happily say hello everyone he meets! Due to this he would be able to live with children, so long as they were confident around energetic dogs and are careful of their snacks as he is a real foodie. Alfie is also good around other dogs, so we would consider a home with an existing dog who would match his energy.

As expected with a working Retriever, Alfie is always keen to follow his nose and has been known to want to chase any birds and other small creatures he sees or sniffs out. He is also quite strong for a dog on his size and being the excitable pup he is, does pull on the lead, so he would benefit from daily connection and re-call sessions with his owner, which can helped along by the love of his ball and a tasty reward. It would be ideal if his home had access to a secure space, which would allow him time to run free and burn off some energy, while ensuring he can’t go too far!

If you think you can give him the exciting and active future he needs, let us know by filling in a perfect match form below:
