Introducing handsome Arlo, the 16 week old Golden Retriever.
He has ended up at the centre through no fault of his own and is now looking for a stable home that can provide him with all the training and socialisation he needs to mature into a happy well balanced dog.
He builds bonds quickly with the people around him and is incredibly people orientated. Arlo has a friendly nature but needs his confidence building with the world around him as its apparent he hasn’t had the correct exposure to new environments, other dogs and people. His new family will need to be committed to going to puppy training classes to enhance his socialisation in a controlled manner.
Arlo would be best suited to a family home that already has another calm pre-existing dog in the household. The pre-existing dog will need to be young and comfortable with puppy-like play to ensure they can keep up with Arlo.
Unfortunately Arlo is showing signs of separation anxiety so this will need to be worked on within the home environment at his own pace; because of this he will need someone around for most of the day initially. It would also be beneficial if his new home has previous experience of dealing with separation anxiety to ensure the appropriate training is carried out.
If you feel you could offer Arlo the safe and secure home he needs then please fill out a perfect match form.
