Handsome Buddy says hello!

Having arrived at the centre after his previous family sadly could not offer him the time he needed. Although a little frustrated by his new environment, Buddy has quickly built some wonderful friendships with carers, and is quite happy to say hello to anyone he meets.

Being a Border Collie, he is a young and energetic dog who is keen to be on the go and explore the countryside whenever he gets the chance, so will need active humans who can provide him with lots of mental and physical stimulation throughout the day. He is very keen to learn new skills if there are some super tasty treats involved, so would thrive in a home with a family who wish to spend time training or providing him with extra outlets, such as scent work or agility.

Buddy is friendly and affectionate with people, so a home with children will be considered, so long as they are dog savvy and confident around energetic large breeds, as he can be boisterous, excitable and jump up on occasion. On the flip side, he does seem to like his home comforts and is known to be calm and affectionate around his humans once feeling settled, so he is the best of both worlds. Currently he would like to be the only dog in the home, as he been a little unsure and frustrated during interactions at the centre, so will need his new humans to work on his socialisation skills with other calm and friendly dogs. He has previously lived with cats, however, has displayed some chase behaviours towards small animals, therefore this will be considered depending on home set-up.
