Meet Buffy, the loyal and loving German Shepherd!

If you are looking for a devoted, playful, and eager-to-please furry friend, then this girl may be the match for you!

Buffy’s early life was spent confined to a crate, but despite her rough beginnings, she has grown into an incredibly people-oriented and friendly dog who is always excited to make new human friends – we are delighted to see her start to love life, enjoying toys, paddling in water, treat puzzles and cuddles with her favourite people.

Being only young, as expected, she is an energetic and enthusiastic girl who can sometimes be a little over zealous with her love and excitement for the people around her, so she would greatly benefit from adopters who are willing to work on some basic training in the home, which will help to install some general manners and channel this in positive ways. Buffy’s love for toys and food makes her a joy to train as she’s always ready to show off her skills in exchange for a tasty treat or a fun play session.

Ideal Home:

Buffy would thrive in a home where her family were dedicated to ensuring she got the physical and mental stimulation she needed, as she is a bright girl who likes to keep her brain busy. Although she loves her quiet walks, due to her hip dysplasia, she will need her daily exercise to be tailored, as she can get tired quite quickly at times. Ideally, her new adopters would have the flexibility to be home for much of the day in the initial stages, to help her adjust to her new environment and settle in – she will need to be gradually built up to being left and frequent toilet breaks as part of her routine. She would do best suited to a home with no young children – dog-savvy teenagers (14 years +) who are confident with bouncy breeds will be considered.

Considerations:

Buffy has hip dysplasia, a condition that requires ongoing management – this would consist of monitored/tailored exercise and daily medication/supplements to help her remain comfortable. She has already started hydrotherapy sessions, which she absolutely loves, and these will need to be continued in her new home to help manage her condition and help keep her happy and healthy.

Buffy is more than just a pet; she’s a loyal companion who has a lot of love to give. She has shown remarkable resilience and a strong will to overcome her early life challenges. With the right care, training, and plenty of love, Buffy will be a fantastic addition to a family who understands her needs and is ready to provide her with the forever home she deserves.
