Meet Burrito – Ready for a Fresh Start

Burrito’s life before coming into our care was heartbreakingly difficult. Used for breeding and then cast aside, he was left alone in an outdoor kennel over the cold autumn nights without food, water, warmth, or comfort and covered in his own filth. He was brought into our care as a matter of urgency by a kind member of the public, and from that moment on, Burrito’s gentle spirit has shone through.
Despite everything he has endured, Burrito is a truly sweet and affectionate boy. He has been a delight since day one – proof of his remarkable resilience and loving nature.
Because of his past, Burrito has had very limited life experience. He doesn’t yet understand how to play with toys, and unfamiliar sights or sounds can spook him. Big movements or loud noises may confuse him, so he needs calm, gentle introductions to new things and new people. A hands-off, patient approach is essential while he builds trust and confidence.
Due to the neglect he suffered, Burrito is still learning basic life skills that many dogs take for granted:
– Stairs can be a challenge, and he needs a little help navigating them. A family happy to support and guide him will help build his confidence.
– Toilet training is still a work in progress, so he’ll need a patient home willing to continue his positive training and routine.
What Burrito Needs
A quiet, understanding home with people who can take things slowly and help him explore the world at his own pace.
The only dog in the home, although he is happy to walk politely alongside calm canine friends.
Older, dog-savvy children only—he thrives best in a peaceful environment.
A love of home comforts is a must! Burrito adores snuggling on the sofa or curling up under a blanket next to his favourite humans. For the first time, he is learning what it means to feel safe and loved.
Burrito is gentle, kind, and full of potential. With patience and compassion, he will blossom into the loyal companion he’s always wanted the chance to be. He has so much love to give – he’s just waiting for someone special to give him the loving forever home he deserves.
