Butternut and Maple are super sweet young kittens who are hoping to find a quiet and understanding home to settle in to.

This little duo were found on a building site by some workers, with no mum in sight, and therefore brought in to the care of CDCH. As expected, Butternut and Maple were not 100% sure of their new surroundings, and have taken a little time to adjust to the attention of people, but have made great progress while spending time in a foster home. We could even say that they have recently turned a corner, as they are now quite confidently showing off the crazy kitten personalities we knew they were hiding.

Butternut and Maple enjoy one another’s company, and despite their initial reservations, frequently engage in play sessions (they love to chase a wand toy!), kitten zoomies and are now wanting to explore new areas, with more room for mischief.

Because of their slightly tentative nature on arrival, we expect that they will need a little patience from adopters for them to come out of the shells in the initial week. Due to this, they would be best suited to a home with no dogs to worry them, although, an existing cat may be considered, so long as the adopters are happy to carry out gradual introductions at their own pace. Their adopters will need to be prepared to take a gentle approach.

Considerations:

Due to their age they will need to remain fully indoors until they are old enough to be introduced outside – this is advised at 4-6 months of age minimum (so in 2-3 months of time).

Butternut and Maple have had sensitive stomachs during their stay, which is likely due to their poor start in life, and the need to build up some resilience. We have been supporting this by keeping them on a sensitive diet – this will need to be continued until full improvements are made.

This pair are ready to fly the nest and will be fully vaccinated and neutered prior to adoption.

Adoption information:

Adoption donations for a kitten pair is £275 – this is inclusive of initial health checks, flea and worming treatments, microchip, vaccinations and future neutering, as well as one months free PetPlan insurance – we also supply a weeks worth of food, a bag of litter, alongside a toy and feliway spray to help them settle.
