Introducing the wonderful Chai,
Chai entered the shelter with an injury to one of her front paws so has spent the last 9 weeks recovering from this in her lovely foster home. This has since healed and she is now ready to find a family of her own.
Her foster family has discovered that she’s a playful, intelligent and loving girl who thrives in the company of humans. Even though Chai is a larger breed she seems to think she’s a lap dog; her new family will need to be up for a cuddle on the sofa! Chai is very active and intelligent so will be best suited to a home who enjoy the outdoors and have plenty of time to keep her brain stimulated. She could potentially live with children so long as they were dog savvy and respectful as she can be a sensitive soul at times.
Chai can be wary of other dog’s on intial meets so will need a calm and confident handler who is able to build her confidence with this. However, if introduced in an appropriate way and at Chai’s pace she has proven to enjoy the company of other dogs so would benefit from meeting up with other doggy friends in time. She would be content with being the only dog in the home, but she may have the potential to live with another dog so long as the dog was calm/confident and they were able to build a relationship before being adopted.
Her new family will need to be committed to on-going training as Chai loves to learn; she has picked up many new commands already and is eager to learn more! We would recommended her new owner(s) taking her to 121 training sessions to expand her skills and confidence.
