Shy around humans

Colin is a beautiful Ringneck Parakeet who arrived in our care through an RSPCA inspector, having been removed from a multi animal home, that wasn’t meeting his needs.

Sadly Colin has shown anxieties around handling and interactions with people, so is looking for an experienced and bird savvy new owner, who has his best interest at heart.

Ideal Environment:

Colin would thrive best in an aviary setting that offers ample space for flight and exploration, allowing him to engage in natural behaviors. An aviary can provide the ideal environment where he can feel secure and gradually build confidence in a larger, enriching space.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has experience with parakeets or similar birds, particularly those who may be under-socialised.
  • Can provide a large, secure aviary that caters to his natural behaviors and need for space.
  • Understands and respects his need for minimal handling and can offer a calm, patient environment.

Why Adopt:

Adopting Colin is an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the life of a bird who needs a second chance. With the correct expertise and a suitable environment, we hope he can learn to enjoy a fulfilling life.
