Introducing Copper! He has a big personality to match his striking looks.
Copper has a sweet and excitable personality making him a pleasure to be around. He thrives in human company and has proven to form relationships quickly with the people he spends most of his time with. He greets everyone with a waggy tail and sloppy kiss; he can become overexcited on initial greets so will need further guidance from his new family on manners.
He is full of beans making him ideal for a family that are active and outdoorsy. Copper is keen to explore the world around him and is at his happiest when out hiking with his favourite human companions. Due to his size and excitable traits he would be best suited to an adult only home or children of 16 years+. Copper could be introduced to children once he has excelled with his manners as he’s a friendly boy, just doesn’t understand his size!
Copper loves food and human attention which are two great motivators for training; he’s very eager to learn and please. His ideal home will need to have time to provide him with plenty of physical and mental stimulation as well as basic training. Dog training classes would be beneficial for Copper; these are great for maintaining socialisation in a controlled environment, improving on their skills and enhancing human-dog relationships.
Due to Copper leading a sheltered life up until now, he can find other dogs a little overwhelming; because of this he would only be suitable to a home that has no other pets. He will need a committed owner who can help him with his confidence around other dogs. The staff have dedicated a lot of time to building his confidence around dogs which he has made fantastic improvement on and we do believe he has the potential to be a social dog with other dogs in the future so long as his new owner is dedicated to training and confidence building.
If you could provide Copper with endless love, play and cuddles then he could be the dog for you. Please fill out a perfect match form to express your interest in adopting this handsome chap.
