Introducing Doris, a gentle 4-year-old British Bulldog with a heart as big as her squishy face. Doris has had a challenging journey, arriving at our center after spending too long in a dirty outside kennel. Now, she’s seeking a loving family who can offer her the home comforts she had previously missed out on.
Despite her start, Doris is a resilient girl with a lot of love to give, she is now looking for a calm and patient family who can provide her with the quiet life she craves. As Doris has only ever been used to an outdoor environment, she will need some understanding adopters who can allow her the time she needs to settle into her new indoor surroundings.
Doris is not a demanding lady, she currently spends most of her days on gentle strolls, enjoying the fresh air, getting back scratches from the team (which she really enjoys) and snoozing in her bed (she is a real snorer!). Her ideal family would already take life at a slower pace, and be able to provide her some company during the day. Although Doris can walk alongside other dogs, she is not keen on them invading her personal space so would like to be the only dog in the home.
Typical of the brachycephalic breed, Doris requires surgery to help improve her breathing and make her more comfortable, which is being carried out by the CDCH veterinary team prior to her adoption. Once fully recovered, her adopters should be willing to continue less strenuous activity levels (shorter and less tiring walks), and she would love a garden where she can continue to enjoy the fresh air at her own pace.
Doris is not yet neutered, and will require this procedure to take place in future, which will be arranged by the CDCH team as part of the adoption.
If you’re a kind-hearted family with a soft spot for sweet souls like Doris, we’d love to hear from you, so complete a perfect match form below…
