This little lady is known at Dot!
Although small in size, she has shown us she has a big personality! One which all of the staff here at the centre have become very fond of. Sadly Dot hasn’t had the best start in life and finds some situations quite worrying, which is not surprising being the teeny tiny girl she is.
Dot has shown herself to have some of the typical traits associated with Chihuahua’s, such as being very noise sensitive, and barking at strangers or other dogs as she finds them quite intimidating, due to this, she will need patient and understanding owners who are willing to slowly build up her confidence and show her that not everything needs to be scary. It would be great for her to get to know another calm and confident dog, outside of the home, so that she can build some trust around them.
Although tentative with new people, once Dot realises that they are there to give her love and fuss, she soon gets super excited and will often climb up to their faces to say hello. Treats are the way to her heart, and a great tool to help with any training she may need.
Dot is a young pup who seems to have missed out on all of the important experiences and training a puppy needs – she does not yet know that toys are for playing and is not yet fully housetrained, so her new owners will need to be happy to teach her these all important life lessons and allow her lots of outside breaks, giving her praise when she has been a good girl! She does not like being left alone due to her worries and craves a lap to curl up on, so someone who is around most of the time to give her company and the time she needs for training would be ideal.
If you feel like you could give Dot a loving and patient new start, where she can learn and grow in to a more confident and sociable dog, then do let us know by filling out a perfect match for below.
