Introducing our big goofy girl, Dusty!
This sweet girl may be big in size but that doesn’t stop her from thinking she’s a lap dog! Dusty enjoys socialising and playing with her favourite humans by either playing a good game of tug-of-war or learning something new for a tasty treat. Dusty requires an adult only home who are experienced with handling large breed dogs as she can be strong and boisterous at times.
Dusty can be shy of new people on initial greeting but swiftly begins to trust and make loving relations. Due to her shy nature we would be looking for new adopter(s) that were committed to coming to the centre on multiple occasions to build a relationship with her. Dusty is a massive people pleaser and has already shown the staff here at the centre how intelligent she is; she’s quickly learning new tricks like sit, down and close. She will make an extremely fun and rewarding companion for someone who is interested in training and fun activities.
She has been social with other dogs when out on walks so would benefit from a family who have access to other calm friendly dog’s that she could interact with over time. As Dusty still requires on-going training she would be best suited to being the only dog in the home, as then her new adopter(s) focus can all be on her!
Dusty has shown no signs of separation anxiety and has been used to being left for short periods of time; she could be left for a maximum of 4 hours so long as she was built up to this. She will require at least 1-2 hours of exercise per day which could vary from physical to mental stimulation.
If you are fun and adventurous then you may be a perfect match her playful and exuberant personality. If you think you could offer this wonderful girl her forever home then please fill out a perfect match form!
