This adorable big floof is Enzo – out 3 year old Akita X.

Enzo came is on the search for some loving humans for companionship. Although he can be a little nervous on first meet, it doesn’t take him long to feel more comfortable, and become accepting of fuss.
Enzo is very loyal to the people he knows, and once he has built a bond, he is always excited to see them, often showing off his silly and affectionate side. Although he makes friends easily, he would prefer a home without too many unfamiliar people coming and going, as this could unsettle him. Enzo would be best suited to a dog savvy household, familiar with large breeds. Having knowledge of double-coated breeds would also be beneficial, as he will require regular grooming and can struggle with warm temperatures. B

Being the size he is and having previously lived in an outdoor environment, Enzo would thrive with an active family who are keen to take him on lots of outdoor adventures. Within the home, he will need to have access his own space so he doesn’t feel too confined. His adopters should be understanding that it may take him some time to adjust and feel settled inside. Ideally, he would have frequent and easy access to a garden, not only to enjoy some cooler spots to relax in, but also because he loves to zoom around and play (he enjoys chasing toys for his humans).

Enzo would like to be the only dog in the home, but has interacted well many others here at the centre, so would enjoy regular socialisation with other polite dogs after gentle introductions. He is a super intelligent boy and very keen for treats – this makes him responsive to training, which his adopters will need to be willing to continue in the home, to ensure he remains the well-balanced dog he is.

If you think you are the companions for Enzo and can provide him with lots of adventure, let us know by completing an application form below:

Please note, that we would be expecting any potential family to meet Enzo on multiple occasions at the centre before an adoption could take place.
