Could you provide a foster home (or room) for a kitten (or maybe more)?
CDCH often have young kittens arrive in our care, who need a safe space while they get ready to find their forever homes. Due to this, we would benefit greatly from foster families who are ready to welcome kittens in to their home when called upon. Kitten numbers vary, so they may come as a single kitten, or be looking to stay with their siblings (a pair or more).
Foster carers should be able to provide a kitten safe room, where they can have 24/7 hour access too all their needed resources, including litter trays, food and water, as well as climbing posts etc (which will be provided by CDCH). Kittens will need to remain indoors at all times and should be kept safe/separate from other pets, unless assessed as suitable to interact.
kittens will likely require a veterinary visit during their stay in foster, for vaccinations or health checks, therefore, carers should be willing to return to the centre if needed. Not all kittens arrive confident and well socialised, therefore, foster carers would ideally be open to considering those with a more nervous nature.
If you think you can give some kittens a safe space in your home, and offer them lots of opportunities for play, fuss and socialisation, then please complete a foster application below, adding ‘Foster a Kitten’ in the name box.
Please note: Fostering an animal is cost free – CDCH ensure to provide foster carers with all the needed equipment, food and veterinary care during their stay.
