Introducing Ginny and Georgia, our adorable bonded pair of female Gerbils!

Ginny and Georgia came into our care through no fault of their own and a currently in foster waiting to find their forever home.

Georgia is a confident girl and will has been learning to trust her fosterer and is now taking yummy treats from hands, Sunflower seeds are her absolute favourite! Ginny is a little more shy and has been learning to trust by observing her sister. Her favourite activity is rolling herself around in her sand bath!

As Gerbils only have a small lifespan (2-4 years), Ginny and Georgia are really hoping to find an adopter who not only understands their independent natures but can also provide them with a fun and stimulating environment where they can do what gerbils do best — dig, forage, and explore!

The Home I Need:

Gerbils need to be housed in a special gerbilarium, which should be large enough to provide shelter, opportunities to dig and space to exercise. Gerbils are natural diggers and make there beds underground, their gerbilarium should have a layer of suitable bedding material that’s deep enough to allow your gerbils to dig and construct a system of burrows.

The minimum enclosure size for a Gerbil is recommended at 100cm x 50cm x 50cm

If you are a first time gerbil owner we would recommend doing lot of research about their specific needs before applying. The link below to the RSPCA website contains lots of beneficial information which would be great to read through.
