Kilo is our adorable 6-year-old Jack Russell Terrier with a sweet soul and a playful spirit.
Through no fault of his own, Kilo found himself in our care. Whilst at the centre it was clear that Kilo truly missed his home comforts, so he has been settling in with a local foster family where he has come on leaps and bounds, and we are super pleased to see his confidence slowly flourishing, with his cute and cheeky personality coming to light.
What type of family would suit me?
This sweet boy can be a little tentative at first and may get spooked by loud or unfamiliar noises, so he’s looking for a patient and understanding family to help build his confidence. Because of his nervous nature, he would be best suited to a home with older teenage children who understand his need for space and reassurance, and ensure a calm environment. Once he feels safe, Kilo’s playful side shines! He loves to zoom around the house, chase his favourite toys, and then settle down for a cosy nap—preferably curled up on the sofa or snuggled in a warm blanket. Kilo enjoys exploring the outdoors and is happy to greet other dogs on his walks, but he’d thrive best as the only dog in the home so he can have all the attention he deserves.
What kind of home environment would be best suited?
Kilo is currently enjoying a quiet home with a private garden he can spend time in free of worry, so ideally his new environment will offer the same. Although he loves his daily adventures in the countryside and woods, he prefers to stay away from busy roads as the passing traffic does make him feel uncomfortable. Saying this, he has joined his foster carers for short trips in to the village, where he has been gradually introduced to cafe life.
Can I be left alone?
Kilo was previously left alone for long hours during the day, so has shown some anxieties around being left while in foster, therefore, would be best suited to a home where someone can be around for good parts of the day, and slowly build his confidence around this.
If you’re looking for a sweet natured, loving and playful companion, then Kilo could be the perfect match for you….
