Introducing Lady and Stella,
These gorgeous girls entered the centre in awful condition; they were emaciated, had a serious skin infection and mostly bald all over their bodies. Fast forward 4 weeks, and they’re starting to look and behave like the beautiful dogs they are. We can’t quite believe the change in them in such a short amount of time, however, their new home will need to be committed to nurturing them further back to full health.
It’s hard for us to know their exact age, but we believe Stella is around 2-3 years old and Lady is around 8-10 years old. Stella has a bright and energetic personality, whereas Lady prefers the quieter side to life (who can blame her after what she’s been through!). They both enjoy countryside walks along with sofa snuggles throughout the day. As Stella thrives so much from human company it would be beneficial that someone is around for most of the day, but over time they could be built up to being left for short periods.
Lady has a timid nature which isn’t unsurprising as she’s most likely not experienced the love she deserves from humans. However, it hasn’t taken her long to build relationships with the staff here and has been shown that humans can be trusted. This little girl loves her food, so plenty of tasty snacks have helped to improve her confidence!
They both have incredibly sweet and gentle personalities, and we believe we haven’t even seen their full potential yet! They have proven to be the most loving and loyal companions; it’s been heart-warming to show them that a human-dog relationship can be trusted and fulfilling for them; we have enjoyed experiencing their individual personalities flourish. As they’ve led a life of neglect up until now, its likely they haven’t experienced many positive interactions with the world around them, so their new home will need to have time and patience to build their confidence with other dogs and new environments.
They have shown some reactive behaviours towards other dogs when out and about so their new home will need the confident in managing this behaviour.
Even though Stella and Lady do have a good relationship, they do both have different needs so they will require a home that is set up to meet both of their needs. If you feel you could offer this pair the home they finally deserve then please fill out a perfect match form.
