Mika

Mika is a beautiful 4-month-old Husky x Rottweiler with the most striking blue eyes and a gentle soul. She came into our care alongside her sibling, Maeve, after a very difficult start in life. The girls had been living in overcrowded conditions with little exposure to the world around them and no early socialisation. Because of this, Mika is a shy and sensitive girl who can find new situations overwhelming. She isn’t the type of puppy to rush headfirst into new experiences – she prefers to take her time, observe, and build trust at her own pace. Once she feels safe, her sweet and affectionate nature truly begins to shine.

As a cross between two intelligent and high-energy breeds, Mika will grow into an active and capable companion who will need both mental and physical stimulation. She is looking for an understanding home that can commit to ongoing, gentle socialisation, helping her gradually build confidence through positive experiences. Her adopters will need to be patient and consistent, continuing her basic training – including lead walking, recall, house training, and general manners, while also supporting her as she adapts to a completely new way of life.

Mika would thrive best in a quiet household where she can feel secure and not overwhelmed. She would be happiest with older, dog-savvy children who understand the importance of respecting her boundaries and giving her space when she needs it. She could potentially live with another suitable, calm and confident dog who could act as a positive role model and help show her that the world isn’t such a scary place.

Mika may have had a difficult beginning, but with patience, kindness, and commitment, she has so much potential to blossom into a loyal and loving companion.
