🐾 Meet Mimi!

Sweet little Mimi is a 1-year-old female Dachshund in search of her forever home. Life in kennels has been tough for this sensitive soul – she’s finding it all a bit overwhelming, and she’s now looking for a quiet, understanding forever home where she can feel safe.

Mimi is a shy girl with a nervous disposition. She struggles with anxiety and can be easily spooked by loud noises or unfamiliar situations. But once she builds a bond with you, she becomes incredibly affectionate and loyal – the kind of dog who will follow you from room to room just to be near you. She’s a real shadow pup who thrives on comfort and gentle reassurance. She shows many appeasement behaviours (like lip licking, low posture, etc.), especially when she’s feeling unsure, so she’ll need a patient and calm household that can help her slowly build confidence at her own pace.

Mimi previously lived with other dogs and, while she may be a little cautious when meeting new canine friends, she could live with a calm, friendly dog who can show her the ropes and help her feel more at ease. Due to her nervous nature we feel she would be best suited to a home with older, dog-savvy children.

Her ideal family would:

• Have a quiet, stable home environment
• Be experienced with or understanding of shy or anxious dogs
• Be committed to helping her build confidence through positive reinforcement
• Enjoy gentle walks, playtime, and lots of cuddle sessions on the sofa
• Possibly have a calm dog to mentor her – but it’s not essential

Mimi is such a special little dog who just needs the right people to help her blossom. In the right hands, she’ll be an incredibly loyal and loving companion.
