Peaches is a gorgeous young working cocker spaniel, who is now on the look out for a new home.
This girl has had a sheltered start to life, spending most of her time outdoors, with minimal experiences of new environments, which has caused her to feel a bit worried and anxious of the world around her. Due to this, she is now searching for a calm home, where she can feel safe and secure.
Expectations:
Peaches would be best suited to adopters without too many social expectations initially, as she is very nervous of meeting new people, displaying submissive and appeasing behaviours. A family who can devote time to helping her adjust to home life and build her confidence would be ideal – it would help for her adopters to be around for parts of the day to help settle her in, as she will likely look for reassurance. Peaches tends to gain confidence from other dogs, therefore, we are hoping to find her a home with another confident and friendly companion, who is happy to share their space, although, we will still consider homes without.
Peaches adopters will need to be on board with slowly helping her to adjust to the sights and sounds of her new home as she may find it hard to settle – patience, gradual introductions and a gentle approach to training is essential.
Activity levels:
Despite her initial reservations, Peaches is a young and energetic girl who is always on the go and loves to explore and follow her nose. She will require a good level of daily exercise and stimulation to keep her happy and burn off some energy. A secure garden will allow her time to decompress and offer her chances to explore freely, while close access to countryside walks will keep her away from the worries of busy areas.
Why adopt Peaches?
With the right adopters who are willing to invest time, patience, and love, Peaches has the potential to become an incredible companion, offering a rewarding friendship in return.
