Meet Perky – our sweet 1 year old Jack Russell terrier.

Perky came in to our care through no fault of her own and is now on the look out for some understanding adopters and a new confident four legged friend to help build her confidence. Sadly, for the first year of her life, she lived a very sheltered life with very little affection or opportunities to enjoy a care free puppyhood.

Due to this, is a very shy girl who has found meeting lots of new people a little worrying, therefore is very tentative when making friends and needs time to build trust. Once she gets to know you, she is an affectionate pup who enjoys cuddles and fuss and and will often jump on your lap for face licks. She is also very playful when feeling more confident.

Perky forms close bonds and often seeks attention from her favourite humans – it’s apparent that she isn’t keen on being left on her own and may show signs of separation anxiety when left, therefore would benefit from someone being around a good chunk of the day, who is willing to build this up slowly over time. She is looking for some companionship with humans who will dote on her like she deserves. Perky  would be best suited to a quiet home with children 15 years plus who can be understanding of her nervous nature, and may benefit from another friendly, confident and calm dog for company and reassurance, although this is not a pre-requisite.

Perky has not been very adventurous in her past, so absolutely loves her walks, and adventures with her favourite people. She would thrive in a home with humans who are happy to provide her stability and the company she deserves.
