Say hello to Poppy – a lovable little Staffy cross, who arrived at the centre, covered in deep scars from her past. Sadly, we don’t know much about what poppy has been through, but despite carrying battle scars, this has not affected her spirit and love for humans and other dogs.
Poppy is a super friendly and affectionate girl who greets everyone she meets with pure excitement and joy. Her enthusiasm for life is infectious, and she’s looking for a home where she’ll be showered with the love and attention she deserves.
Poppy craves human company and would love a family that can be with her through some of the day. She’s great with people and keen to meet other dogs, so would be ideal for families who enjoy including their dog in their day to day life – her tail is always wagging and she is friendly with everyone she meets. Poppy is working on her basic manners—her excitement can sometimes result in her jumping up with enthusiasm, or exploring for treats in places she shouldn’t, but her eagerness to please will make training a rewarding experience.
Poppy has a deep scar on her hind leg, and has shown some signs of restricted muscle movement. While her wounds have healed, her exercise levels will need to be monitored to ensure she doesn’t experience discomfort from long walks or overexertion. She has not yet been neutered, and is currently in season, so she will need to return to the centre early next year to be spayed.
Poppy’s journey hasn’t been easy, but her resilience and boundless affection make her a truly special dog. She’s ready to leave her past behind and start a new chapter with a family who will love her unconditionally.
