Prince is a young, spirited Labrador with a true zest for life! His love for play—especially chasing tennis balls—led him to police training as a detention dog, however, after just missing out on passing his final assessments, he now finds himself back in kennels, hoping to find an active and adventurous adopter to give him the lifestyle he deserves.

Prince thrives on activity, whether it’s exploring countryside walks, engaging in training (he’s a clever boy who will happily show off his skills for a tasty treat), or playing with his beloved toys (his future family should be ready to keep a stash of cuddly toys on hand!). Given his need for mental stimulation, Prince would be best suited to a home which offers plenty of exercise and mental stimulation—he’d even enjoy scent work or agility if his adopters are up for the challenge!

Despite his energetic nature, Prince has lived in a home before and, with the right amount of activity, settles well—he even loved curling up for sofa cuddles with his handler! He’s a social butterfly who bonds quickly with people, but due to his love of companionship, he isn’t yet comfortable being left alone and will need gradual training to help with this.

While Prince adores humans, he has shown some reactivity toward other dogs, likely due to frustration. During his police training, Prince successfully lived with another well-trained and respectful dog under experienced handling, therefore, if you can offer similar, we’d be happy to discuss this further.  A more rural setting with quieter walking routes would be ideal.

If you’re ready for an adventure-loving, tennis ball-chasing companion who will bring boundless fun and loyalty to your family, Prince is waiting to meet you! Complete an application form below:
