Prince is a young and spirited Labrador who is now on the lookout for a loving, stable family home to call his own.

Although he was initially found as a stray with no one to claim him, this handsome boy hasn’t let that experience dull his joy for life of friendly nature towards people, as he is is always keen to make new human friends and greet them with a waggy tail. Being the social butterfly he is, he would thrive in a home with an active family who is ready to include him in lots of adventures and give him the attention and companionship he craves. Saying this, he’s not on the go all of the time and is quite the cuddly boy when all tired out! Prince would benefit from someone being home during period of the day in the initial stages, to help him settle in and build him up to being left for short periods of time.

Like any young Lab, he has a true passion for playtime—especially chasing tennis balls! His future family will need to keep a stash of his favorite toys on hand, as there’s nothing he loves more than a good game of fetch. He not just a pretty face either, as he is a clever pup who is a quick learner and responds well to training – he would love the opportunity to express his energy in active games such as scent work or agility if his adopters were willing to get involved!

While Prince is happy to meet new people, he’s shown some reactive behaviors around other dogs and would do best with ongoing training and support in this area. His adopters should be open to rural or quieter walks where he can enjoy his time outside without too many interactions. Our team at CDCH is continuing to assess his behavior and will share all relevant training insights with adopters to help Prince succeed in his new home. He has also shown prey drive, so would not be suited to living in a home with other pets and will need to be kept on-lead when out and about, keeping his zoomies for garden time or hired secure fields only.

If you’re ready for an adventure-loving, tennis ball-chasing companion who will bring boundless fun and loyalty to your family, Prince is waiting to meet you! Register your interest today…
