Meet Puinea and Gig 🐹💛

Puinea and Gig are a lovely bonded pair of male guinea pigs, both just under 2 years old. These sweet boys are looking for a calm and patient forever home where they can continue to grow in confidence together.

They came from a home where they were sadly ignored and rarely handled, so they’re still a little wary. With gentle handling and plenty of love, we’re sure they’ll start to come out of their shells. Because of their nervous nature, they’d be best suited to a home with older children or adults who can give them the quiet and reassurance they need.

Puinea is the braver of the two – he’s usually the first to peek out and see what’s going on, especially if veggies are involved! Gig is more timid and prefers to take things slowly, often looking to Puinea for reassurance.

Both boys have recently been neutered, and little Gig has also had some dental treatment after an abscess removal. His adopters will need to keep an eye on his teeth and ensure he has regular dental checks to keep him healthy and happy for life.

Guinea Pigs – Housing Guidelines

Minimum hutch size: 153cm x 62cm (bigger is always better!)
Run: A large, secure run for daily grass/exercise time

Their living space must provide:
• A secure area large enough to run and tall enough to stand upright
• Indoor housing that is dry, well-ventilated and away from direct heat sources or draughts (ideal temp: 17–20°C)
• A safe exercise area and sheltered space where they can rest and feel protected from predators and extreme weather.
