Our handsome playful young man Rocky is now available for adoption! Rocky is 3 year old and a Staffordshire bull terrier cross.

Rocky is a people pleaser, and is enthusiastic when it comes to obedience training. He knows many basic commands already like sit, down, wait, stay, leave, bed, recall and close. He will be eager to learn further tricks in his new home so his new owner(s) will need to be keen to expand his training. His lively and goofy personality makes him a joy to be around and work with.

He will flourish in a quiet adult only home in a rural or semi rural location as he loves exploring the countryside with his faviourate human companions. Rocky has some anxieties towards strangers and unfamiliar dogs but this has improved with gentle introductions at CDCH; his new family will need to be committed to building his confidence further in the home. He will need someone that has the time to visit the centre multiple times to build a strong relationship with him.

Due to Rocky’s intelligent and energetic nature he will thrive in a home that can provide him with plenty of physical and mental stimulation. As well as relaxing walks, he enjoys playing a game of fetch, obedience training and scent games.

His new owner(s) will need to be confident and patient as he has a history of resource guarding high value items. This behaviour is easily controlled within a home so long as the correct preventatives, management and training is being carried out; CDCH will show a new owner how to deal with this. He has not performed this behaviour since CDCH have introduced positive reinforcement methods to build a positive association with people around high value items.

Rocky cheeky character will suit a playful and fun home. If you believe you could be Rocky’s perfect match then please fill out a perfect match form.
