Roe is a sensitive soul who has already shown us how brave he can be. Having spent his early months without experiencing the wider world, he arrived at CDCH very nervous, shut down, and unsure of everything around him.

Since then, Roe has been on a remarkable rehabilitation journey. With time, patience, and gentle encouragement from his carers, he’s begun to trust, explore, and even enjoy some of life’s simple pleasures. He’s taken steady exposure to new environments in his stride and now happily observes other dogs from a distance. Best of all, Roe has recently discovered the joy of zoomies – showing us his fun-loving, lively side!

Roe still has a way to go on his journey, and he will thrive best in a calm, quiet, rural home with dedicated and patient people who understand nervous or fearful dogs. His new family will need to take life at Roe’s pace, continuing with his training and confidence-building, and offering him lots of reassurance along the way.

With the right support, Roe has the potential to truly blossom. He may even benefit from the company of a calm, confident canine companion who can help show him that the world isn’t such a scary place.

If you’re experienced with shy dogs and are ready to give Roe the patient, understanding home he deserves, he’ll reward you with loyalty, gentle affection, and the joy of watching him grow into the wonderful dog we know he can be.
