Ruby is our big lovable pup who will always greet you with a tail wag!

This sweet and gentle lady captured the hearts of staff as soon as she arrived at the centre – greeting everyone with a smile on her face and has since shown us what a wonderful companion she would be to anyone lucky enough to adopt her.

Ruby is at the age where she prefers the more chilled side of life, and is definitely planning to spend lots of it in her favourite cosy spots, alongside her humans! Of course, this would be in between short play sessions and goofy moments (when she gathers enough energy for tug of war with her favourite teddies and participate in the odd zoomy), as well as gentle strolls, where she loves to sniff and greet new people (and even some other dogs).

Unfortunately Ruby wasn’t in tip top condition on arrival at the centre, suffering with some itchy, sore skin, gunky eyes and a bit of wobble in her back legs, all of which are being treated by the veterinary team, where she is receiving daily eye drops and medicated baths to make her feel more comfortable. Although we are investigating her ‘wobble’, it seems that this is possibly due to some muscle weakness, therefore, there is no specific treatment at this stage, just maintaining a suitable lifestyle and diet plan.

An ideal home for Ruby would be:

  • One with adopters who are around most of the time to keep her company, as she may get upset if left and loves to be by your side.
  • Not too active, as she does struggle with longer walks, so would prefer short strolls – she is a sociable girl, so she could even join you on the odd trip out to your favourite pub garden, so long as she has s comfy spot to rest.
  • Have understanding of her current needs and be happy to give a little extra TLC. She may need a couple of extra measures to help her in her home, such as non slip mats, cool areas to rest on hot days, as well as assistance getting in to the car for travel.

If you can create a cosy spot in your home with Ruby’s name on it, and can offer her the company she craves, then let us know by completing a perfect match form below:
