Everyone meet our adorable French Bulldog pup,  Spud!

At only 17 weeks old, Spud has had a traumatic start to his life. Unfortunately, after suffering a severe leg injury, he required amputation, and is now learning to adapt to life on three paws!

Although Spud is managing his lot like a true champ, he will need some special TLC to help him become comfortable and confident as a tripod dog, so we are looking for a loving family who have the time to dedicate to his care, and can be with him for most of the day. It would be beneficial if his new humans had some experience or knowledge with medical care, and it’s important they would be able to financially commit to on-going physio/hydrotherapy.

Spud adores his human friends and has unsurprisingly managed to steal the hearts of everyone at the centre. He is a fab office buddy for days when he is not in foster, and will take any opportunity for lap cuddles, always offering face licks in return. Although it’s only early days following his op, his cheeky personality (which is so typical of the Frenchy breed) has already started top shine! Spud is currently very unhappy in the company of other dogs, which is likely to be due to his vulnerabilities and lack of ability to socialise post surgery, therefore we are looking for a home where he is the only dog, in the hope that his adopters will work on gentle introductions to other calm and friendly canines in future.

We are super keen to ensure Spuds recovery shows progress, so at this time we are looking for a foster to adopt arrangement with any potential new family, which will allow us to continue to provide initial veterinary care, prior to carrying out an adoption. Due to this, his new home should be within 30 minutes drive from the centre, as we would expect him to be able to attend medical appointments when required. Once we are happy with his progress, we would look to make his adoption official!

On adoption day, Spuds adoption fee will be £600 – this will be inclusive of health checks, vaccinations, microchip and neutering when he reaches the appropriate age.

For now, Spud needs a quiet home, where he can receive all the love he deserves – is this something you could offer? If so, send us a perfect match form…
