Meet Toby

Toby is a 1-year-old Cockerpoo with a gentle heart and a sensitive soul. He is looking for a patient, understanding family who are happy to take life slowly with him and help him build his confidence at a pace that feels safe for him.

Toby is a lively, energetic boy – very typical of his breed – but it’s important to understand that some of his excitable behaviour is actually driven by anxiety rather than overexcitement. These behaviours, known as displacement behaviours, are Toby’s way of coping when he’s feeling unsure. His new family will need to be willing to read him correctly, respond calmly, and support him with positive coping mechanisms to help him navigate the world around him.

When given time and space, Toby forms lovely, trusting relationships with the people closest to him. He is eager to make friends and enjoys human companionship, as long as introductions are taken at his pace and he’s allowed to feel secure.

As a Cockerpoo, Toby is active and intelligent, and he will need a home that can provide plenty of both physical exercise and mental stimulation to keep him happy and fulfilled. Enrichment, training, and structured routines will be key to helping him thrive.

Toby would be best suited to a quieter home environment where he can feel safe and relaxed while continuing to grow in confidence. With patience, understanding, and the right support, Toby has so much love to give and will make a deeply rewarding companion for the right family.
