Introducing the precious Trixie,

Trixie entered the centre as a stray so we know very little about her previous history. However, its clear from her poor body condition that she has suffered severe neglect. It’s truly remarkable that this girl has been through so much but has shown nothing but love and affection to all the team at CDCH. Her sweet and gentle nature has shone through from the moment she greeted the team. Due to her friendly personality we feel she could live with children above the age of 10 years old, that are dog savvy and calm.

As you can probably see from her photos, Trixie entered with incredibly sore skin and no fur; it was clear she was in an incredible amount of pain and discomfort. After being provided with the appropriate medical care we have already seen a vast improvement with her health; the sores on her skin have settled and her coat is beginning to grow back. Her new family will need to be willing to aid her in her recovery back to full health by providing her with the correct medication and appropriate diet.

Trixie prefers the quieter things in life; her ideal day would consist of a short romp in the countryside, lots of sofa snuggles and of course, food! In true lurcher style she is a big foodie so inappropriate snacks and the bins will need to be kept out of reach. She will thrive in a household that relish in home comforts as in her mind nothing beats curling up on the sofa. She would benefit from being the only dog so the focus is on her, however, we would consider another older calm dog in the home if it matched her energy.

It’s been so wonderful to slowly see Trixie’s personality shine through over recent days, she’s become playful, interactive with toys and showed her cheeky side (which she probably hasn’t been well enough to do over the years). She will make the most fantastic family companion, and the people in the household won’t be short of a doggy kiss and hug with her around!
