Doris had a challenging journey before arriving at the Cotswolds Dogs & Cats Home, she spent a long period of time living in a cold, dirty kennel outside and exposed to the elements.
Doris came to us with a list of medical complications, her coat was full of dry and flaky skin, her claws were overgrown and she was incredibly dirty from her time in an unsuitable environment.
She was suffering from bad skin which can be incredibly painful and uncomfortable. Our dedicated team is now managing this condition with medicated baths and medical wipes.
Additionally, Doris also requires surgery for her cherry eye a condition where the third eyelid gland protrudes, causing discomfort and potential vision problems.
Furthermore, she needed vital BOAS surgery to help enable her to live more comfortably and improve her quality of life significantly.
BOAS (Brachycephalic Obstructive Airway Syndrome) surgery involves removing the excess tissue causing obstruction along the airway, thereby widening the passage for airflow and allowing her to breathe more easily.
This gorgeous girl is only 4 years old so still very much a puppy at heart. She loves to go for a gentle stroll, getting some fresh air or you will often find her snoozing in a comfy corner but, above all, relishes in the joy of back scratches.
Sadly, because of her restricted airways and struggles with breathing, Doris’s exercise is restricted as this causes her so much discomfort.
With your support, she can look forward to a brighter tomorrow filled with longer walks and the happiness of exploring new adventures in the great outdoors.
