How can leaving a legacy to The Cotswolds Dogs and Cats Home help?

Last year, 1 in 5 animals here at the centre were helped by legacy gifts alone. Your gift provides vulnerable animals with all the love and care they need to grow and heal to go on and find their forever home.

Tiger Tom came to the centre back in 2021 after he was signed over by his owner who sadly could no longer cope.

After all the initial medical checks and sudden weight loss we soon realised that Tiger Tom wasn’t very well and, further investigation was needed. Tiger Tom was diagnosed with ‘Feline Triaditis’ – this is an inflammatory disease that affects three internal organs (the liver, pancreas and small intestine).

Tiger Tom needed prescription food and daily medication to help him with this condition. He responded very well to the treatment and, very quickly, started to feel better. He even started to put on some weight.

Tiger Tom will continue to need this medication and prescription food for a very long time and requires regular health checkups at the centre.

Tiger Tom is very lucky to have found a supported, permanent foster home where he is loved dearly and his medical bills for this condition continue to be paid for by the centre at a cost of around £180 per month.

The Cotswold Dogs and Cats Home is totally reliant on donations to be able to support Tiger Tom and animals just like him. Both in supported foster, as well as here at the centre.

A gift in your Will can ensure all the medical needs are met and that they will always have a warm, loving safe space to rest, the correct food to eat, and plenty of enrichment until they are ready to go on and find their forever homes.

If you would like to be remembered as a dedicated animal lover and feel you can leave us a gift in your will of either a percentage of your estate or a monetary gift, however big or small we would be extremely grateful.

This month is Free Wills Month, and we have partnered up with FreeWills to allow you to complete your easy, no obligation, and completely free Will.
