Can you help transform the lives of more animals like Coconut?

CDCH has been caring for animals in need for over 85 years, and will continue to do so year after year providing a brighter future.

We are independently funded and rely entirely on the generosity of our kind supporters to continue our vital work.

The animals we take care of come from a variety of backgrounds. Some are once-beloved pets who, through no fault of their own, can no longer stay with their families. Others are abandoned, left with nowhere else to turn.

Many arrive in urgent need of care, suffering from serious illnesses or life-changing injuries that require immediate and sometimes ongoing medical attention. Heartbreakingly, some bear the scars of severe abuse and neglect.

But no matter their past, every animal we take in is given a second chance at life, love, and healing.

Like Coconut, a small 1-year-old pug who arrived at the Cotswolds Dogs and Cats Home, shut down with and filled with uncertainty.

So young, yet already burdened by the weight of her past, she was simply yearning for love and comfort in a world that had let her down.

Coconut had been living in harsh conditions, confined to isolation of a small kitchen with little more than scraps to eat and left surrounded by her own waste.

She suffered from malnutrition, muscle wastage, and a painful ulcerated eye that had been left untreated.

Thanks to the kind and generous support of our regular donors, we were there for Coconut in her darkest hours.

We provided her with the love she had longed for, the medical care that saved her eye, the time and space to regain her strength, and nourishing meals to help her recover and gain weight.

Without this unwavering support, Coconut’s transformation would not have been possible.

After spending some time at CDCH, Coconut finally found a forever home to call her own. Her new family has fully embraced life with a pug and created a loving environment where she can truly thrive.

Now called Millie, her new family shared:

It was love at first sight!

Over time, Millie has learned to socialise with People, Children and other dogs. She runs across fields and rivers at least 3 times a day, and is already showing confidence and a love of life.

Regular cuddles at the pub after a long walk, then laying by the wood fire is her favourite past-time. This year Millie will be holidaying in our touring caravan, and floating down the river dart on our boat.

We cannot thank the team enough at CDCH

Louise - Adopter

Thanks to the generosity of our regular donors, CDCH was able to be there for Coconut, offering her a warm, safe bed for as long as she needed before she found her forever home.

Will you join us on our mission to transform lives of animals like Coconut with a gift of just £3 per month?
