Our mission is to ensure that each one finds the perfect match, whether that’s a forever home or, in some exceptional cases, a working role that showcases their incredible potential.
One such story is that of Buddy, a remarkable dog who recently begun a trainig with Gloucestershire Police as a prospective drugs search dog.
Buddy’s journey to this exciting opportunity highlights the careful care, dedication, and expertise of the CDCH team.
When Buddy first came to us, it didn’t take long for our staff to notice his keen intelligence, drive, and energy.
All traits that suggested he could thrive in a working environment. After careful assessment and collaboration with Gloucestershire Police, it became clear that Buddy had the makings of a fantastic service dog.
Buddy began working on the skills he would need to excel in his role identifying items associated with crime and criminal behaviour.
His early exercises were promising, and the Gloucestershire Police team were optimistic about his future.
Buddy continued to thrive in his training and earned himself a place as one of the team.
We are so pleased to share that buddy has passed his training and is now licensed as a fully trained drug detection dog.
At CDCH, we are committed to ensuring that every animal in our care is placed where they can truly thrive.
For many, this means finding a loving family to call their own. But for special dogs like Buddy, it means finding a role where they can put their unique talents to good use.
This success is made possible by the dedication of our team and our close partnerships with organisations like Gloucestershire Police.
We are thrilled to see Buddy embark on this new chapter and are incredibly proud of the work he’s doing.
We wish him the best of luck and will be cheering him on every step of the way.
