What is means to be a CDCH Ambassador
Being a CDCH Ambassador is an honour and a unique opportunity to champion the vital work of the Cotswolds Dogs & Cats Home.
Ambassadors serve as figureheads for the charity to raise awareness and support for our mission.
With an Ambassador, we can achieve greater community engagement, build sustainable partnerships, and ultimately create a brighter future for animals in need.
You cannot imagine how delighted I was to be asked to be an ambassador for the Cotswolds Dogs & Cats Home. I've been supporting and following their work for some time. When they invited me to look at their facilities I was blown away by the whole set up. The care and love their fluffy residents receive is first class, but there are some extra special aspects to their work as well. The way they take in, nourish and build the confidence of animals is truly remarkable. Their veterinary care is exceptional, and their special fundraising efforts for specific projects have a profound impact. They also care for the animals of people fleeing domestic abuse until they are in a position to be reunited. I am privileged to support this incredible team and hope you can follow our adventures.
Working with CDCH means, Alex Lovell can help bring awareness to dogs like Buffy.
A Beautiful German Shepard who was discovered in a bush alongside her companion Tia. The two endured unimaginable neglect, confined to a small crate with no care or comfort. Both dogs were malnourished, emaciated, and covered in their own dirt.
Buffy, in particular, was in a heartbreaking condition. She had significant muscle loss from living in such cramped quarters and weighed just 17.5kg at the time of her rescue. She was later diagnosed with hip dysplasia, which required immediate treatment. Buffy began her recovery with hydrotherapy and ongoing pain relief to ease her discomfort and rebuild her strength.
Despite their traumatic ordeal, Buffy and Tia displayed incredible resilience and determination to recover. With careful weight management and the unwavering dedication of our team, Buffy gradually returned to a healthy weight of 25.1kg.
Today, Buffy is thriving in her forever home, where she is surrounded by love and joy. Her lively spirit and goofy personality have blossomed, showcasing the loving nature that was hidden beneath her past hardships. She continues her hydrotherapy sessions and enjoys playful moments with her squeaky toys, as well as long, happy walks with her new friends.
Buffy has found freedom, comfort, and happiness, demonstrating that with compassion and care, even the darkest of pasts can lead to the brightest of futures.
We are truly grateful to Alex for taking on this role and for her kindness in supporting the Cotswolds Dogs & Cats Home in such a meaningful way. Alex’s passion for animal welfare and the impact she has in the community can make a real difference in the lives of the animals who need us most.
Together, we can create a brighter, more compassionate future for them all.
We are delighted to welcome Alex Lovell as an ambassador for the Cotswolds Dogs & Cats Home. Her passion for animal welfare, along with her strong connection to the local community, makes her a perfect advocate for the vital work we do. Having Alex’s support will help us raise awareness for the many animals in need of care, as well as the wider support we offer to animals in our community. We look forward to working with Alex to make an even greater impact across our region.
