This was the harsh reality for Buffy and Tia, two German Shepherds with gentle souls who endured neglect and abandonment until fate brought them to us at The Cotswolds Dogs & Cats Home.
Covered in dirt and the stench of their own waste, their nails overgrown, and their bodies emaciated, it was clear they had suffered immensely.
Buffy, especially, struggled with muscle loss and the effects of living in cramped quarters, weighing only 17.5kg upon rescue.
They got them out the cage and I could see how thin they were, and the fact they thought it was going to be acceptable to leave them in this cage, I just thought, I'm not leaving these dogs here!!! And now to know they are with The Cotswolds Dogs & Cats Home and getting all the love and care they need makes me so happy.

Since their arrival, Buffy and Tia have made remarkable strides. Buffy, diagnosed with hip dysplasia after an x-ray, now undergoes hydrotherapy and is receiving ongoing pain relief.
Despite their past, their spirits remain resilient.
Buffy, with her charming demeanour, has shown a determination to heal and thrive, now weighing 25.1kg with careful weight management due to her condition.
