Can you help Sherry?

Sherry is in urgent need of surgery.

Sherry is a beautiful 6 year old cream Persian, and she is quite the lady who loves nothing more than to lounge around in her bed.

Sherry came from a multi-cat household where sadly, a change in the owner’s circumstances led to her, along with her sister Brandy both being signed over to our care here at The Cotswolds Dogs and Cats Home.

When Sherry first came to us, it was noted that she was lame on her left hind limb.  Unfortunately, she has not responded well to the rest and pain relief prescribed by our vet Mo, and become progressively worse.

Following veterinary advice, the decision was made that she required further investigation. This involved sedating Sherry and performing x-rays on her hips and pelvis. The x-rays revealed an old fracture to her left hip.

Sherry now needs to undergo an operation called a femoral head and neck excision (FHNE). This is to remove the head and neck of the femur and allow the hip to form a comfortable ‘false joint’. Cats usually recover very well from this procedure, and we are extremely hopeful for the same result for Sherry.

Unfortunately, this kind of treatment does not come without cost, and we are looking at medical expenses upwards of £2,200.

Please can you help us get Sherry the medical treatment she requires?

Can you sponsor Sherry?

You could sponsor Sherry for as little as £10 a month to help cover her medical costs.
